Gill immigrated to Canada from England in '52 after working in a London portrait and photographic studio for four years. Settling in Toronto, she raised 3 children, did volunteer work and enjoyed sports year round. In '86 she moved with her husband to Eden Mills Ontario and then in 2004 moved to Guelph and took up watercolour painting. Gillian has always been interested in art since she was a small child, visiting galleries and studying art history. Later she became a passionate gardener and enjoys all the countryside has to offer.
Botanical art is Gill's main interest with still life and landscape also being pursued. She has participated in three Eden Mills studio tours, juried shows and painting on the green among others.
Gill is a member of the Guelph Arts Council, Guelph Creative Arts Association, and Eden Mills Studio Tour Committee.
