Robert was born in England and emigrated to Canada in 1959. Since retirement and relocating to Guelph Ontario he paints full time, traveling to many locations for inspiration. His favorite subjects are landscapes, particularly the Niagara escarpment parks and creeks, and also rustic interiors showing artifacts of a vanishing age. Robert has a fondness for the play of light, in the shady areas revealing and hiding at the same time, the mystery that makes a painting a joy to look at.
