Three times lucky indeed! This year, our third time participating at the Sheep Dog Trials Sheep to Shawl Competition in Kingston, we came home with a first place ribbon. Our team of spinners Donna, Helle, Ellie, Lauren, and weaver Linda, enjoyed a weekend of great hospitality, great weather, and great camraderie—and it was productive, too! View the action >>

OHS Conference Display, May 07
(21 items)
Congratulations to our Guild! We were the proud recipient of
three awards granted by the Ontario Handweavers and Spinners for our
participation in the 50th Anniversary OHS Guild Show, Inspiration from the
Closet, at the OHS Conference: Old World New Ways at Brock University, May 11-13, 2007.
The Guild won two awards for its display:
The People’s Choice Award, and an award for ‘outside the box’
thinking for our closet and moth theme. A special thank you to Donna, whose original closet and moth concepts started the whole display design ball rolling.
Guild member Melanie M. won the People’s Choice Award for
Individual Item: an Atlas Moth-inspired tencel scarf in deflected double weave.
Thank you to GHS members who contributed to our award-winning display with handcrafted items and conceptual help; to Melanie, Melanie, and Linda, our dynamic Sales and Display Committee; and to all Guild members for your ongoing enthusiastic support.
