Life Drawing

Drawing from a live model is a unique experience. The model, the physical environment, and the artist have a direct bearing on the quality of the work produced during a life sitting. The energy of the model often determines the strength of the drawing. I am especially interested in capturing the strength and essence of the model in the gesture.

100 Animals Project

I have been drawing these animals since 2004 and the goal is to create 100. They start off as a line drawing. I scan the black and white drawing and then add colour using a computer program. I give a copy of these animals to the students that I teach at the end of the semester. I hope to continue this project until I retire from teaching high school.
