In 2014, the Kiwanis Music Festival of Guelph is celebrating its 33rd Anniversary of providing local music students with the opportunity to showcase their talents in a wide variety of musical disciplines. We expect to receive over 1200 entries this year, providing performance opportunities to some 3500 young people, making the Festival the largest youth services program in the arts in our community. Each year, venues across the city resound with the musical offerings of the performers, delighting upwards of 6000 audience members. 150 volunteers help to facilitate the event and nearly 200 individuals and corporate sponsors give generously to implement the K iwanis Music Festival Scholarship program. Over $15,000 in awards and scholarships are presented to 150 soloists and ensembles, as recommended by our 15 professional adjudicators. The Highlights of the Festival Concert & Awards Ceremony is a showcase of some of the best performers in the following disciplines: choirs, bands, strings, brass and woodwinds, voice, harp, guitar, recorders, piano, handbells & chimes, digital piano & keyboard, speech arts, and special needs. The concert will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at 3:00pm at St. George's Anglican Church on Woolwich St.
The 2014 Kiwanis Music Festival of Guelph will take place from March 31 to April 17.
The deadline for entries for the 2014 Festival is January 17, 2014.
