Mary is a visual artist currently working in acrylic, watercolour, chalk pastel and mixed media. Mary lives in Guelph and acquired her formal art education at the University of Toronto, the University of Guelph, Georgian and Canadore College.
Mary’s paintings explore the play of light and shadow through clear transparent colour, bold strokes and strong contrast. While Mary's textural pastels convey the softness of mist and the richness of fur, her watercolours and mixed media are filled with movement and energy.
Mary is most alive in the natural world where the raw beauty of the earth unfailingly beckons her to capture its wonder with her brush.
Mary’s work has been successfully exhibited in solo, group and juried shows and can be viewed at the MacDonald Stewart Art Centre in Guelph and at the Art Gallery of Hamilton in their Art Sales and Rental collections.
