Guelph Speaks

A community anthology project, collecting unpublished and original personal stories about life in the City of Guelph. This will be a book and CD with prose, oral, film, art, sculpture, installation, photography, music and multimedia approaches, together as a community we will create a tapestry of stories to represent our city.

Stories will be accepted until May 16th and must be submitted with a Submission Waiver, which can be found on their website and at various businesses and resource centres across Guelph.

Lattitudes Storytelling Festival

Latitudes Storytelling Festival is an annual two-day festival hosted by the K-W Multicultural Festival in Victoria Park in Kitchener. The Festival is part of the Tapestry series of events celebrating the diversity of our community every June.

The 2008 festival is June 21 and 22. For more details, visit their Festival 2008 page

Latitudes Storytelling Festival also takes part in other events throughout the year.

The Story Barn

The Story Barn in Baden (just west of Kitchener) is run by Mary-Eileen McClear. It is a centre which promotes storytelling as an art form and an educational tool through courses, workshops, concerts, a resource centre, and monthly open storytelling evenings.

Voageur Stortyelling

Paul and Leslie Conway were members of the Guelph Guild until they moved to the Northern Bruce Peninsula and founded Voyageur Storytelling. They host a wide variety of storytelling events, including a fabulous Country Supper Storytelling Concert.

The site is managed by Guelph Arts Council, and serves the areas of Guelph and Wellington County located in Ontario, Canada.
