Our garden volunteer roster is 15 people (spring, summer & fall) Police Check Required: NO

Description of Activity: Seasonal maintenance of historic gardens (1850-1880).   Participate in special events and group tours pertaining to the gardens.  Remain up-to-date on relevant training manuals and research materials. Interpret gardens to visitors.

Skills Required:

Interest in gardening.

Knowledge of gardening an asset.




About McCrae House

McCrae House, built in 1858, is the birthplace of John McCrae and a National Historic Site.  Exhibitions interpret the life of John McCrae, world famous doctor, soldier and author of In Flanders Fields

Contact Information: We ask that you fill out our Volunteer Application Form (PDF form available or pick one up at the museum)  Our Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to set up a time to discuss volunteer opportunities at the museum.  Once you have been accepted into Guelph Museums' Volunteer program, orientation packages, tours of sites and overviews of specific volunteer work and work schedules will be provided.
