During 2009-2010, Guelph Concert Band is thrilled to be part of the new Guelph PerFOURmance Pass.
Established in 1878, the Guelph Concert Band is now renowned for quality performances and versatility. After six years under the direction of Colin Clarke, the band has evolved into a group that is equally as comfortable performing symphonic wind ensemble works on the River Run Centre stage, often accompanying soloists, choirs and dancers, as it is playing popular music in the summer at outdoor venues.
From all ages and walks of life, our membership ranges from high school students to seniors who are over seventy, and includes factory workers, students, doctors, seniors, teachers, business owners, engineers, civil servants, and many others who play music in their spare time. Today the band touts a membership of over 60 musicians who perform both challenging and varied repertoire The band rehearses only two hours a week on Sunday nights, but has the sound and balance of a professional ensemble.
The Guelph Concert Band invites you to become involved with this vibrant organization. Help is alway welcome. Please also feel free to contact us to enquire about sponsorship opportunities. We hope to see you out at one of our many upcoming concerts, both in the park and in the concert hall!
