This presentation contains the slides for a talk on integrating Safety and Conservation in historic cemetery and monument care. Delivered at the "Essential Skills for Historic Monument Care" workshop hosted by Woodlawn Cemetery in March of 2005 and organized through the Ontario Association of Cemeteries and Funeral Professionals in co-operation with The Ontario Ministry of Culture. The presentation is based on the specific experiences at Woodlawn, combined with the guiding influences of master stonemason Per Neumeyer and conservationist/researcher/co-ordinator Tamara Anson-Cartwright. Intended for use only as a source of ideas, the work is an example of one possible course of action, and cannot be taken as prescriptive or authoritative.
