DESCRIPTION:Monday\, July 6\, 2026 – Friday\, August 28\, 2026 at various Guelph Public Library Locations \nPresented by the Guelph Arts Council\, Oceans\, Wetlands\, and Greenlands by local artist Grazyna Adamska-Jarecka depicts vital and interconnected ecosystems. The exhibit features more than 25 paintings displayed across three library locations: Main Library\, East Side Library\, and Westminster Square Library. The collection includes works from the artist’s My Oceanic Allegories show\, as well as paintings depicting forests\, lakes\, and wetlands. \nAbout the Artist\nGrazyna Adamska-Jarecka is a Polish-born Canadian painter who has lived in Guelph\, Ontario\, for thirty years. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from the University of Guelph in 2002 and her Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2006. Her background in biology has greatly influenced her artistic interests. Throughout her career\, her work has oscillated between abstract interpretations of microbes\, coral reefs\, landscapes\, the human body\, and communication

DESCRIPTION:Show Runs July 8th – August 2nd \nArtist Reception July 11th\, 3-5pm \nBarbara McKell is a visionary artist specializing in unique Mandala Art. \nArtists Statement: As a Visionary Artist\, I work with watercolour\, ink\, and acrylic to create Mandala paintings and Soul Portraits that invite viewers to journey beyond the tangible world into the metaphysical and spiritual realms. For me\, art is a sacred practice\, a pathway to self discovery and healing that deepens as I connect to the inner voice of wisdom guiding my work. In each piece\, I aim to redefine perspectives offering a visual language that transcends established thought and opens the door to a more expansive reality. \nMy mandalas are expressions of the soul’s symbolic language\, created through a blend of inner vision and artistic technique. My artwork is infused with elements of sacred geometry\, symbolic patterns\, and the natural energies of crystals\, plants\, and totems\, imbuing them with healing potential. SUMMARY:Sally Wismer Gallery Solo Show Opening Reception: Curious\, Andi Syme
DESCRIPTION:Opening Reception July 14th 6pm-8pm \nJULY 4th– AUGUST 25th 2026 \nGallery hours: Tue to Wed\, 10am to 4pm \nThe structures we live in pose an ongoing challenge to finding comfort in our bodies. Despite this\, comfort regrows out of warm and soft spaces\, where we are able to imagine and regenerate. \nWithin the desaturated planes\, figures bond and interact with a sense of freedom\, play\, or absurdity. Reflecting the nuance of finding joy and euphoria through their historical bodies\, the figures continue to dance in their plurality\, recognizing the fuel joy gifts in upholding resiliency. Their boundless bodies bloom\, reshape\, and rework their assumed limits\, harvesting with them grit\, flexibility\, and connection. Inviting you into their curious world\, the interwoven figures play in the environment of uncertainty\, open to surprise and new constructions of self. \nAndi Syme (they/ them) is an interdisciplinary visual artist. Syme graduated from the University of Guelph with a BA(Honours) in Studio Art and Sexualities\, Genders and Social Change. With focus on figures in community\, they expressively explore autobiographical themes of neuro-queer and trans* identity\, community\, and safe spaces. Syme primarily works through charcoal drawings on soft domestic objects to share joy and understanding.
