SUMMARY:Truth & Reconciliation After-School Event
DESCRIPTION:On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation\, Guelph Indigenous Community Council and Guelph Museums offer an after-school gathering that honours the children lost to residential schools and supports the healing of survivors and their families. \nChildren\, youth\, and community members are invited to come together in a spirit of remembrance and renewal. Guided by the principles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples\, through land-based and Indigenous teachings—including a sacred fire\, indoor and outdoor activities\, and a special raptor presentation —we will celebrate the language\, ceremony\, community\, and joy that were unjustly taken. \nImage Credit: Michelle Stoney\, Gitxsan
