Following the success of last year’s event\, the 2nd annual Downtown Dog Promenade\, proudly presented by the Downtown Guelph Business Association and Speedy Auto Service Guelph\, will take place on Saturday\, September 21st from 12pm to 4pm. Dogs of all breeds\, sizes\, and their human families are invited to join in the fun. \nThe event is free to attend\, with some activities requiring a small fee. Donations will be collected on-site\, with all proceeds going to Autism Dog Services. \nA variety of activities and exhibits will be available\, including: \n– A costume contest for your stylish pups. \n– Expert advice from local dog groomers and veterinarians. \n– A selfie station complete with fun costumes. \n– Free treats for puppies throughout the day. \nParticipants are encouraged to pick up a “Pawsport” upon arrival at the red check-in tent located in St. George’s Square. Collect stamps from participating downtown businesses for a chance to win exciting gift baskets. \nPresenting partner and Speedy Auto Service Guelph owner Sharon Marostega-Hammond said “Speedy is thrilled to sponsor this dog-friendly community event!  It not only allows us to give back and support a cause as important as Autism Dog Services\, but also strengthens our connection with local families and pet owners. DESCRIPTION:Bandology’s annual Band Camp is a week-long day camp for keen music students in grades 7-12 who want to improve their musical skills in the summer. \nLed by some of the best conductors\, clinicians and music teachers in southern Ontario\, teenage campers  at Band Camp enjoy using top-notch music facilities to participate in warm-ups and chorales\, break-out into sectionals and small groups\, and rehearse as a full concert band. There’s also lots of fun with games\, camp projects and team-building activities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAt the end of the week\, campers have a final day pizza party while preparing for a free mini-concert for parents and friends. \nBand Camp Junior is a week-long day camp for kids in grades 2-6 who want to explore their love of music through games and demonstrations with new friends. \nAt Band Camp Junior\, kids have fun with hands-on introductory workshops with some cool instruments and experience a wide variety of music styles. Led by keen musicians and educators\, campers enjoy participating a wide variety of musical activities\, from bucket drumming to body percussion to music theory and everything in between. \nCampers will try out different types of instruments alongside dedicated music mentors. There’s also typical camp games\, projects and team-building activities. At the end of the week\, campers take part our end-of-week free mini-concert for parents and friends.

DESCRIPTION:Monday\, July 8th – Friday\, July 12th | 9AM – 3PM \nThis summer\, youth aged 10-14 can have fun creating their own animated shorts at Ed Video’s Animation Camp! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInstructed by Jaden Howson\, campers will spend the week learning the basics of how to animate using Krita\, an open-source digital painting and animation program. Using the skills they’ve learned\, campers have the opportunity to work individually or in groups to create their own characters and bring them to life in their very own animated shorts. Campers’ works will be screened for parents and guardians on the final day of camp! \nCampers are free to bring their own laptop to camp or they can rent a laptop for the week for an additional $20. Laptops are limited and will be rented on a first come\, first served basis. DESCRIPTION:This March Break\, Ed Video is offering a fun and engaging video production camp where campers can create and tell stories for digital media. Digital storytelling is a transferable skill that kids can use for the rest of their lives. Digital storytelling provides: \n\nopportunities for self-expression and developing confidence\nproblem solving skills\neffective presentation and marketing skills\ncritical thinking development\ncommunication skills\nopportunities for fun\, creativity and imagination!\n\nInstructed by Christina Cameletti and Jaden Howson\, campers will learn storyboarding\, camera operation\, sound recording\, lighting\, green screen and video editing. Using these skills\, campers will work together to shoot their own short works to be screened for parents and guardians on the final day of camp. To encourage campers to continue their digital storytelling journey\, they will be provided with their very own microphone kits to keep! \nCamp will run from 11am-5pm\, Monday\, March 11th to Friday\, March 15th at Ed Video Media Arts Centre (404 York Road\, Guelph ON). This camp is designed for youth aged 10-14 years of age. The cost of the camp is $300. Siblings can register at a discounted rate of $550 for both campers. DESCRIPTION:Do you like to doodle? Do you want to try something new? Are you looking for a space for making art? If you answered yes to any of these questions\, we have just the program for you at the Art Gallery of Guelph!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBeginning March 22\, we invite teens ages 13 – 19 to come hang out at the art gallery every second Wednesday from 4 – 6 pm (see calendar below for exact dates). This is an open and diverse space for gently guided creativity and gathering with friends\, where no artistic experience is required. AGG’s programming team will lead participants through specialized projects and will be available for support throughout all sessions. Teens are invited to bring their own projects or experiment with the materials provided\, and most of all\, to come as you are. Participants will also have the chance to help decide and plan what art projects the group explores together\, including brainstorming a name for this new creative crew. We want to hear from you! \nDuring the month of June\, we will host our two final Youth Programs for this school year! On June 14\, join us for collage and zine making; on June 28\, join us for an art party and collaborative life drawing to celebrate the end of the school year! We appreciate registration\, though drop-ins are always welcome. \nYouth Programs will resume in the fall with the start of school.

Our Open House is a chance to meet and learn from the amazing people\, organizations and businesses that make 10C and the Guelph Farmers’ Market magic. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAt the Open House\, visitors can expect to: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEnjoy guided tours of 10C and learn about the amazing programs happening here\nMeet and chat with businesses who are leading social and environmental change in our community\nLearn from vendors and sample yummy food and drink offerings\nBe inspired by two art installations on our First and Fourth Floors\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for an evening of learning\, connecting and inspiration! \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration is not required for this event. Walk-ins are welcome.

DESCRIPTION:July 3rd – July 7th \nInstructor is Nora Shifflett. \nAge 7-9 9:00am-11:30am \n3…2…1…Blast off! \nCampers will explore tempera\, collage\, and sculpting techniques in this 5 day studio based camp. During their studio time campers will learn new skills and techniques in a multitude of mediums that are transferable into everyday life. Campers will be given the opportunity to explore and develop their own unique style as they become astronauts\, visit and create new worlds. At the end of camp\, campers will part with numerous pieces that showcase their journey into outer space.\n \nAge 10-12 12:30pm-3:00pm \n3…2…1…Blast off! \nCampers will explore watercolour\, acrylic\, and block printing techniques in this 5 day studio based camp. During their studio time campers will learn new skills and techniques in a multitude of mediums that are transferable into everyday life. Campers will be given the opportunity to explore and develop their own unique style as they become astronauts\, visit and create new worlds. At the end of camp\, campers will part with numerous pieces that showcase their journey into outer space.
