SUMMARY:Lighting & Grip Fundamentals
DESCRIPTION:Learn the fundamental techniques and practices of lighting for film and video. \nFacilitated by José Garcia-Lozano \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn this workshop\, participants will learn the uses and benefits of a variety of lights as well as how to employ bounces\, diffusion and negative fill when creating a lighting set-up. Scenes and images will be analysed to identify the different lighting approaches and tools used and then recreated for hands-on experience. While this workshop sheds light on industry approaches to lighting\, there is a strong emphasis on working with existing lighting and simple tools.

DESCRIPTION:Learn how to uncover stories worth telling in this workshop. \nFacilitated by Dawn Matheson \nThis interactive workshop is all about the idea! You can’t get anywhere in filmmaking without somewhere to start\, and so often\, this is where people get stuck. \nYou’re eager to tell stories\, yet unsure what stories are yours to tell\, convinced your experiences aren’t interesting enough\, or tempted to borrow someone else’s narrative. Everyone has stories worth sharing. The key is learning how to uncover them. \nIn this 2-hour interactive session\, participants will uncover ideas rooted in personal interests and lived experiences\, explore the narratives that matter most to them\, and be encouraged to develop the authentic connections needed to build the relationships and context that help tell those stories with integrity. \n** Participants should come ready with at least one or two story ideas you are interested in telling. ** \nPlease email workshops@edvideo.org for any questions or accessibility concerns.

SUMMARY:Building Interactive Networks with TouchDesigner
DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Kwasi Bugyei \nLearn to build live interactive and immersive networks using TouchDesigner\, a node based visual programming software\, in this 2-part workshop. \nExperience Level: Beginner \nIn Part 1\, participants will receive a comprehensive overview of TouchDesigners’ capabilities including:\n• 2D/3D basics\n• Motion Capture and Gesture Control\n• Projection Mapping Sensors and MIDI Service Inputs\n• AI \nIn Part 2\, participants will apply the skills they acquired in the previous session to create and present interactive and immersive advertisements\, environments and experiences for a mock agency. They will focus on creating networks for campaigns in the following industries:\n• Fashion\n• Food\n• Music\n• Live Performance\n• Tech Start Up and Mobile Apps ( social\, dating\, shopping)\n• Sports\n• Film and Broadcast Media\n• Travel and Tourism\n• Automotive\n• Education and Humanities. \nBy the end of the workshop\, participants will have a foundational understanding of TouchDesigner networks\, along with templates and example builds that can be used for potential professional opportunities in UX/UI design and digital marketing. \nThis workshop requires a laptop with TouchDesigner and a scroll wheel mouse. Ed Video has a limited amount of laptops with TouchDesigner available for members to use.
