SUMMARY:Book Bash Festival 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Guelph Book Bash Festival is an annual celebration of the books published by Guelph and area authors over the previous year. The event is presented by Vocamus Writers Community.\n\nThis year\, it will be held on Sunday November 5\, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM\, at the Guelph Farmers’ Market.\n\nOver thirty authors will be in attendance to sell their books\, chat with attendees\, and sign copies. The authors will be joined by many of Guelph’s micro-presses\, bookstores\, libraries\, cultural groups\, and literacy organizations\, all the people who help make up our great local book culture.\n\nThere will also be storytelling and free books for children\, a leave-a-book-take-a-book table\, a book composting demonstration\, food and refreshments for sale\, book prizes\, and other fun!\n\nThere is no cost for the event\, but donations will be accepted for Action Read\, Friends of Vocamus Writers Community’s charitable partner\, which provides literacy programs in the community.

DESCRIPTION:The life of an artist can be unpredictable\, especially in the area of finances. Between fluctuating employment\, cuts to arts funding\, and rising costs of living it can be hard to feel secure about a stable financial future. These anxieties can be compounded when factoring in the precarious and low-wage working situations many artists and cultural workers find themselves in. \nThis free seminar taught by Richardson Wealth investment advisors Will Mactaggart\, Monica Mazun\, and Mike Hryn will provide artists and cultural workers with simple tools and concepts they need to plan for the future\, and help demystify the various tools available to help achieve their financial goals. \nTopics include: \n\n\nCash flow projection/analysis \n\n\nInvestment vehicles (TFSA\, RRSP\, FHSA) \n\n\nSafety planning (GIS\,CPP\,OAS) \n\n\nDon’t know what any of these terms mean?
