DESCRIPTION:The AGG Volunteer Association is pleased to host a variety of knowledgeable appraisers to assess and evaluate your prized possessions and unusual finds. McMaster Fine Art invites you to bring your treasures and heirlooms to the Art Gallery of Guelph for an Antiques Roadshow-style event! Get on-the-spot verbal appraisals for jewellery\, art\, Inuit objects\, textile art\, stamps\, and coins from the region’s experts. \nPurchase tickets here > \nTickets are $20 per item\, or three items for $50. Each ticket represents one item for appraisal\, with a maximum of three items for appraisal per person. A limited number of tickets will also be available at the door for walk-ins on a first-come\, first-served basis – priced at $20 per ticket with a maximum of three tickets per person. \n\nCategories: \n1. Jewellery and metalwork \n2. Unframed or framed art and Canadiana \n3. Inuit art or objects \n4. Textile art \n5. Glassware and pottery \n6. SUMMARY:Film Screening: "ENDLESS COOKIE"
DESCRIPTION:Ed Video Media Arts Centre is pleased to host a screening of Endless Cookie\, the animated documentary by Seth and Peter Scriver at the GYMC. This screening is presented in collaboration with the Art Gallery of Guelph. \nPWYC entry ($5.00 suggested) — NOTAFLOF \nEndless Cookie is an imaginatively animated family portrait that explores the contrasting upbringings between two half-brothers\, one white and one Indigenous\, in a humorous oral history. As they reminisce into the recording microphone\, the threads of their stories are punctuated\, interrupted\, or else hijacked by charismatic (and humorously animated) members of the extended family\, including nine kids and ten dogs\, who add to the narrative by indulging in their own reveries. The result is an exploration of identity\, race\, and Indigenous resistance to colonization within a First Nations community; an impressionistic and often surreal depiction of family; and a lived-in documentary of the creative process. \nThere will be a Q&A with the directors Seth and Peter Scriver following the screening.

The evening will include an Artist Talk with Jenn E Norton beginning at 7PM.
