DESCRIPTION:Learn about Guelph’s history while taking in its beautiful architecture and natural features through six different Historical Walking Tours. \nThis tour of the area southeast of the downtown\, between the Speed and Eramosa Rivers\, reveals the rich variety of historic architecture and the diversity of peoples who formed Guelph. Particular attention is devoted to residential/industrial proximity and the city’s early Italian community. \nDate: October 4\nTime: 10:00 AM \nPurchase tickets for Tour 6 here. \nStarting point: Tytler Public School\, 131 Ontario St\, Guelph. \nThank you to all of our tour volunteer tour guides for making these beloved tours possible! \nPlease note: Tours are approximately 90 minutes and all begin at 10am. Participants are required to register and pre-pay. Guides will not handle cash. Tours with less than two registrations by the Friday prior to the tour at 12pm will be cancelled.

SUMMARY:Collective Stitching Session - “Call This What It Is”
DESCRIPTION:“Call This What It Is” is a permanent work in progress depicting the names of women and girls who have been the victims of femicide in Canada since 2020.  I am currently working the panels for 2021.\n\nThe Collaborative Stitching Session presents an opportunity for community members to participate in the stitching of the names for the 2021 panels.  It is an opportunity to sit in a safe space to reflect upon and possibly discuss the impact of violence against women and girls on the community at large as well as personally\, if you feel so inclined.  This is not a workshop or group counselling session.  The discussion and material may be triggering so it is important to check in with yourself and do only what you feel you’re able to. \n\n\nThe names stitched by participants during this session will be incorporated onto a panel as part of “Call This What It Is”.\n\n\nLed by artist Katie Tonetti\n\nProceeds will be donated to Women in Crisis.\n\nDonate Directly Here
