DESCRIPTION:Guelph\, Ont.\, April 17\, 2016—Bilingual JUNO nominated artist\, Mike Ford\, performs a free Oh Canada concert at Guelph Civic Museum Friday\, April 28 as local artists mark the opening of Wall of Art: Fresh. \nFord returns to Guelph\, after co-starring\, last summer with Moxy Früvous bandmate Murray Foster\, in Sons of 17 at McCrae House. Ford was awarded The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 for creating bilingual history-themed interactive arts experiences for Canadian youth. Through original song\, humour\, and a vast knowledge of Canadian history\, he inspires interest in Canada’s past and encourages greater involvement in its present and future – in both official languages. \nAdmission to the Civic Museum on Fourth Fridays is free after 5 p.m. with the performance set to begin at 7 p.m. \nGuelph Civic Museum is located at 52 Norfolk Street. Clarke. DEPARTURES will offer two dances from the Passionate Heart repertoire along with a retrospective created in collaboration with Linda’s vivid and personal stories.\n\nPassionate Heart and Linda collaborated in March 2022 to present This is not a Fairytale… and they are thrilled to once again combine movement with stories of departures\, wound together with the beautiful music of Ludovico Einaudi.\n\n\nLinda brings thirty years of hearing stories\, telling stories\, writing stories\, and teaching stories to this collaboration. She believes that telling a story is an act of generosity\, receiving a story is a fundamental act of hospitality. It’s how we connect with one another.\n\n\n\n\nIn 2017\, Suzette coaxed Michele out of retirement to join forces for a performance at the Guelph Dance Festival. This led to the formation of Passionate Heart in 2018 and\, during the next five years\, they built a repertoire of fourteen works created by themselves and David Earle\, performing in many locations in Southern Ontario. In September 2022\, Passionate Heart was invited to La Roche D’Hys in France to present three performances and two workshops. The two presentations of DEPARTURES will bring the total number of performances to 50.\n\n\n\n“The Passionate Heart experience and our decision to perform in an intimate studio environment to small audiences has been a transformative journey for us. The connection we have felt with those in attendance (even when masked!) has been more than we could ever have imagined. We are very grateful for those who have given their heartfelt comments and continued support throughout this journey.
