SUMMARY:Introduction to Camera Operation
DESCRIPTION:Learn the fundamentals of operating a camera for the purpose of capturing video. \nUsing a mix of lecture\, demonstration and hands-on learning experience\, this session will introduce participants to key concepts needed to properly operate a camera for the purposes of capturing video. This workshop will provide information that can be used in the operation of almost any modern video camera or video-capable still camera/device. Highly recommended for anyone who is starting out in video. This is a good primer for those who want to get serious about video\, but will also be helpful for hobbyists. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own camera if they have one. \nTopics include: \n\nTypes of cameras and the qualities of each\nThe effect of frame rates\nAperture\, Shutter Speed\, ISO and Gain\nColour Temperature/White Balance and how it affects your image\nResolution: HD vs 4K\, and what it actually means\nCodec basics (H.264 vs MOV\, etc)\nCamera audio basics\nSetup Demonstration\n\nPlease email workshops@edvideo.org for any questions or accessibility concerns.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a dynamic three days of musical inspiration\, learning\, creativity\, and community!\nYour hosts & facilitators KATHERINE WHEATLEY & JANE LEWIS are thrilled to welcome talented musicians CYNTHIA KINNUNEN and STACEY CAN-TAMAKLOE as guest instructors.\nOur fall weekend will focus on group singing\, playing\, drumming\, and dance—nurturing community and connections through music. Ukulele is the focus of one of our instructors. Additionally\, there is more activities for our songwriters!\nAll our weekends aim to foster musical joy\, discovery\, connections\, delicious food\, and access to nature on the beautiful grounds of Ignatius Retreat Centre.\nYou do NOT need to know how to play an instrument or read music!
