SUMMARY:Video Tracking 3D Elements in Blender
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to integrate 3D elements into live-action footage using Blender\, an open source 3D computer graphics application. \nExperience Level: Beginner \nVideo tracking is a useful tool for superimposing 3D graphics\, such as titles\, structures\, and characters\, onto video footage. In this three-hour workshop\, participants will shoot a scene and import the video content into Blender. Participants will then learn how to track camera movement\, and generate content that seamlessly blends into the composition. \nParticipants will need a camera or a smartphone to record footage\, a laptop\, a scroll-wheel mouse and a free download Blender (v 5.1). \nEd Video has a limited amount of laptops available for members to use during the workshop. Please indicate on the registration form if you wish to use one. \nPlease email workshops@edvideo.org with any questions and/or accessibility concerns.

This workshop is pure play;\ngenerating movement to create imaginative worlds. DESCRIPTION:Learn the fundamentals of operating a camera for the purpose of capturing video. \nExperience Level: Beginner \nUsing a mix of lecture\, demonstration and hands-on learning experience\, this session will introduce participants to key concepts needed to properly operate a camera for the purposes of capturing video. This workshop will provide information that can be used in the operation of almost any modern video camera or video-capable still camera/device. Highly recommended for anyone who is starting out in video. This is a good primer for those who want to get serious about video\, but will also be helpful for hobbyists. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own camera if they have one. \nTopics include: \n\nTypes of cameras and the qualities of each\nThe effect of frame rates\nAperture\, Shutter Speed\, ISO and Gain\nColour Temperature/White Balance and how it affects your image\nResolution: HD vs 4K\, and what it actually means\nCodec basics (H.264 vs MOV\, etc)\nCamera audio basics\nSetup Demonstration\n\nPlease email workshops@edvideo.org with any questions and/or accessibility concerns.
