This is an opportunity to come together with a group and create joyful, spontaneous music! In this form, originally developed by Bobby McFerrin, you will be guided to sing and explore your voice in a non-judgmental singing circle. Through the process, you'll practice listening & memory skills, melody, harmony, and rhythm. It is a mistake-free zone! All levels of singers welcome. 2nd Saturday of the month, 1pm - 3pm. March through June. Unitarian Church. The first hour will involve vocal warmups and circle songs led by the instructors. You will be part of the circle—divided into sections—singing parts that we give you as we create spontaneous, improvised music. In the second hour, we will move into exercises where participants learn how to create parts, and you will have more opportunities to create your own parts and practice your own improvisational skills. This is optional! You can participate as a singer, and do not have to improvise or sing on your own unless you want to. You are welcome to stay for just the first hour, or for the whole session. Either way, we encourage fun, and intend to leave you energized & invigorated. Each date is a stand-alone event. Come to one or all of them!
