Guelph Musicfest presents violinist David Gillham & pianist Ken Gee Vancouver violinist David Gillham returns to home town Guelph for this much anticipated recital. Originally scheduled for June 7, this postponed performance features music ranging from the sublime to red-blooded virtuosity with selections by Debussy, Prokofiev, Smetana, Sbelius, Vitali and Wieniawski. David Gillham has an extensive solo and chamber music career, having performed throughout Asia, Europe, the Americas and South Africa. He has performed in major venues such as Tokyo’s Opera City and Bunka Kaiken Recital Halls, Baxter Concert Hall in Cape Town SA and the Chicago Cultural Centre, as part of the prestigious Dame Myra Hess memorial concerts. An internationally respected pedagogue, David is regularly invited to teach, give masterclasses and serve on competition juries in North America, Europe and Asia. In 2011, he joined the Faculty at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver Canada.  The concert in the Recital Hall of the Guelph Youth Music Centre is virtually sold out but a few tickets remain, and there will be some standby tickets at the door.
