The Legendary Downchild Blues Band 50th Anniversary Tour With a jumping, infectious and soulful sound, the award-winning Legendary Downchild Blues Band delivers a live show that is second to none. The iconic Canadian band celebrates its 50th anniversary with an electrifying performance showcasing the sound that has made it a blues institution. The current band is led by founder Donnie “Mr. Downchild” Walsh on guitar and harmonica, with Chuck Jackson on vocals and who also plays harmonica. Pat Carey is on tenor sax, Michael Fonfara on keyboard (who also played with Rhinoceros and Lou Reed), Gary Kendall on bass and drummer Mike Fitzpatrick. Guelph Chamber Choir presents John Rutter's Requiem JOHN RUTTER'S REQUIEM with GUELPH CHAMBER CHOIR: We close our season with one of John Rutter’s most moving works, his Requiem, which he wrote after the death of his own father. In it, Rutter combines both the traditional Latin liturgy alongside English biblical verses to create a work steeped in tradition, yet always viewed through a modern lens. The first half of this concert will feature Katerina Gimon’s beneath/sound for choir and chamber ensemble, and Mozart’s Laudate Dominum for soprano and choir.
