Guelph Concert Band Presents: A Sentimental Journey: Music of the big band era On Sunday, Feb 24 at 3pm, the Guelph Concert Band, under the direction of conductor and artistic director Chris Cigolea, takes you on A Sentimental Journey through the decades, featuring classics of the swing, big band, jazz, blues, and rock eras. Enjoy guest performances from singer and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Craig, vocalist Michael Austin Harris and young local artists. From George Gershwin to Frank Sinatra, Queen to Eric Clapton, bring the whole family to enjoy music from the Golden Age of American jazz, blues and rock and roll.​​ See you at the River Run Centre. RCMPI Presents Sweeney Todd An infamous tale, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to nineteenth century London, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which, he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett's luck sharply shifts when Todd's thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up... and the carnage has only just begun! This show contains violence and mature themes, and may not be suitable for children.
