Culture Days Weekend

Culture Days is a 3 day-long, annual collaborative pan-Canadian volunteer movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities.

Culture Days is thrilled to announce the 2018 National Programming Theme — OnBeat!

Presented by Sun Life Financial, OnBeat is a collective drumming event bringing together thousands of Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast over the Culture Days weekend: a celebration of rhythm and making the arts accessible, inclusive and fun!

Communities large and small are invited to participate in OnBeat by organizing drumming and/or rhythm-inspired events during Culture Days. For the first time in Culture Days history, select events will also live-stream from multiple locations.

OnBeat is not limited to drumming. Rhythm can make its way into many different art forms and cultural practices including dance, visual arts, theatre, digital arts and storytelling.

Culture Days has been rounding up stories from across the country that connect drumming, the arts, accessibility and inclusion. Keeping a beat and participating in rhythm-based events have many benefits to both individuals and groups. Get inspired to be OnBeat!
