While unpredictable\, Robert Munsch often attends and adds an impromptuy addition to our programme.\nFree coffee and treats are provided (you are asked to bring your own mug and lawn chair).\nWhile the event is free\, donations to further the projects of the two organizations are always appreciated.

SUMMARY:The Drake Equation
DESCRIPTION:In 1975\, an artist boards a sailboat and disappears. In 2020\, a poet walks out his front door\, never to be seen again. And in 2022\, an actor steps onto a plane hoping it will crash. \n“The Drake Equation” is a lecture performance about artists who die in the middle of making projects\, leaving behind an unfinished work. The show weaves through themes of alien life\, suicide\, mid-60s pop music\, mid-aughts hip-hop\, air travel\, boating accidents\, the planet Mars\, and the persistent question of whether art is worth dying for. \nDubbed “extremely grim but funny” by one reviewer\, the show serves as a follow up to “Dead People Are Liking Things On Facebook\,” which was presented at Guelph Fringe Festival in 2023. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nContent warnings: Death or dying\, Mental illness and ableism\, Self-harm and suicide\, Swears or curses \n\nVenue: Guelph Arts Council\, 55 Wyndham St N\, Unit 22B \nDates: \nFriday\, August 7\, 2026\, 8:00 p.m. \nSaturday\, August 8\, 2026\, 6:30 p.m. \nSunday\, August 9\, 2026\, 2:30 p.m \nMore info and tickets: https://www.guelphfringe.ca/artistinformation2026/thedrakeequation

SUMMARY:Detention
DESCRIPTION:When high-school teacher Samantha Twiggs (Sam) finds herself facing an educational tribunal for vague accusations of unprofessional conduct\, she defends herself with wit and impassioned appeals for the freedom of reading. Will her love of popular music and rosé give her the strength she needs to face personal challenges and shifting tides in the field of education? Will her moral compass and her inner resources betray her when she meets an old flame who also happens to be the divorced father of one of her teenaged students? This one-woman show raises prickly questions about the integrity of contemporary educators and how they square their humanity with their public-facing careers. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nContent warnings:  \n\n\nDeath or dying\, Swears or curses\, Includes misogynistic words that are challenged critically \n\nVenue: Guelph Arts Council\, 55 Wyndham St N\, Unit 22B \nDates: \nFriday\, August 7\, 2026\, 6:30 p.m. \nSaturday\, August 8\, 2026\, 2:30 p.m. \nSaturday\, August 8\, 2026\, 9:30 p.m \nFor more info and tickets: https://www.guelphfringe.ca/artistinformation2026/detention

SUMMARY:Heads & Tales - A JayWalking Theatre Event at the Library

To keep them alive\, the titles go into a hat. You draw one. Jay performs it. Neither of you knows what’s coming next. \nEvery performance is different. SUMMARY:Trivial Lawsuit
DESCRIPTION:Trivial Lawsuit is an award-winning Fringe Festival comedy gameshow is returning to Guelph and you get to be a part of it. Every show is different so you will get a new experience every time. Trivial Lawsuit takes the classic format of a live trivia gameshow and flips it on its head with unexpected twists\, hilarious routines\, and many out-of-this-world mini games within the game. The best part is that YOU can be one of 4 lucky and voluntary contestants! Or. if you prefer\, you can just sit back and enjoy it from the audience. \nReviews have hailed Trivial Lawsuit as being “One of the most creative\, unique\, and out-there shows I have ever seen”\, and “A one-of-a-kind show; I could not stop laughing the entire time.” Written\, produced\, and performed by Graeme Taylor\, a Toronto-based comedy writer and performer who’s been described as “one of the most promising young voices in comedy I have seen in years” by Mark Breslin\, owner of the Canadian Yuk Yuk’s comedy club franchise. He has been making people laugh all his life and now he’s coming back to Guelph. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nContent warnings: Death or dying\, Murder\, Self-harm and suicide\, Swears or curses\, Violence\, While there is no nudity or pornographic content of any kind\, there is some sexually explicit themes I guess? There are many sexual jokes in the show\, but the most explicit thing I actually show is a cartoonishly large censor bar where someone’s groin would be. \n\nVenue: Guelph Arts Council\, 55 Wyndham St N\, Unit 22B \nThursday\, August 6\, 2026\, 9:30 p.m. \nSaturday\, August 8\, 2026\, 4:00 p.m. \nSunday\, August 9\, 2026\, 4:00 p.m \nMore info and dates: https://www.guelphfringe.ca/artistinformation2026/triviallawsuit

SUMMARY:Second Best Friend
DESCRIPTION:Sarah Boston is a stand up comedian\, bestselling author\, actor\, podcaster and veterinary surgical oncologist. She is just focussing on being a stand up comedian for this show. Sarah has spent a lot of her formative years in Guelph and she is so happy to be back performing at the Guelph Fringe Festival. This hour long show will be a work in progress of Sarah’s stand up comedy. Sarah has previously performed at the Guelph Fringe Festival (2024\, Jury Nod for Storytelling)\, Ottawa Fringe Festival (2025)\, Women in Comedy Festival UK (2025) and the Halifax Comedy Festival (2026). She doesn’t know why she is saying this in third person\, but also she can’t wait to see you! She is thrilled to be performing in Guelph and also a bit relieved that her mom won’t be at the show to heckle her.
