SUMMARY:Ana Buzzalino speaks at Royal City Quilters Guild
DESCRIPTION:Exploring the Spectrum: A Journey Through The History\, Theory\, and Psychology of Colour\nEmbark on an exploration of colour where we delve into the fascinating history of colour. From ancient pigments to the modern colour wheel\, we’ll trace the captivating journey of how humanity has perceived and harnessed the power of colour. \nUncover the secrets of basic colour schemes and discover how they influence art\, design\, and our daily lives. We’ll explore classic combinations like complementary\, analogous\, and monochromatic\, showcasing real-world examples that bring these concepts to life. \nVisit https://rcqg.square.site to purchase a $10 guest pass. You may credit this purchase towards your membership fee later. \n\nAna’s Bio\nAna Buzzalino is a creator\, maker\, fibre and mixed media artist\, surface designer\, teacher\, and lecturer. Her love of layers and texture combine in her original work. She achieves results using a combination of different surface design techniques. A lot of her work for the past few years has used aspects of history with an impact on our culture today. \nIn the current climate where everything is new\, instant\, and shiny\, history has relevance; old buildings have a soul that modern buildings do not possess. She finds herself returning to those old buildings to look at the marks of passing time. \nAna’s work has won numerous awards at national and international shows. Her work has been accepted into the Festival of Quilts in the UK where she won an honorable mention\, Quilt Canada where she’s won several awards\, and the International Quilt Festival in Houston where she won first prize in Abstract in 2017 and a third prize in Abstract in 2019. \nAna’s website: https://www.anabuzzalino.com/

SUMMARY:Dusky Wing Film Club
DESCRIPTION:The Dusky Wing Film Club returns this fall with a series of film screenings! \nSomewhat Wild\nTuesday\, January 22nd @ 7PM\nGuelph Arts Council – 55 Wyndham Street N.\, Guelph ON\n*Free \nSynopsis: A shot breaks the dusk. Hunters with GPS screens follow their dogs into the forest\, and the night catches up with them. Elsewhere\, Maina counts her sheep daily. The wolf has been sighted nearby. Adam\, fascinated by this apparition\, goes out to look for it with his camera\, taking advantage of the full moon. Everyone relates to the animal in their own way\, but they agree on one thing: they all want to see without being seen. This beastly tale explores scenes of love and death\, control and care\, fascination and reverie that emerge from living with wolves on the borders of the Basque Country.
