SUMMARY:How We Used To Feel\, Jen Prior
DESCRIPTION:In How We Used To Feel\, Jen Prior builds a room at the threshold between memory and longing; painting the body as shelter\, nature as witness\, and light as the oldest form of belonging. \nLarge immersive works rendered in luminous washes and primitive mark\, her figures do not perform emotion\, they pull it out from the viewer. \nThese are feelings that are waiting to be remembered. \nThe opening reception is April 8th from 6-9pm\, and the exhibition will be up for display from April 8th to the end of May. Opening night will be an immersive experience for the community with sounds\, feelings\, sculptural works and large paintings you can immerse yourself into.

SUMMARY:Lynn Dykstra joins Royal City Quilters for Scrappy Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Using Up the Bits: How to Organize AND USE Your Scraps and Ideas into Ready-to-go Quilt Designs\n\nInstructor: Lynn Dykstra\nCost: $ 41\nNo additional costs\nDate: Saturday\, April 18\, 2026 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm [Eastern]\nLocation: Online via Zoom\nWebsite: https://kleinmeisjequilts.blogspot.com/ \nRegistration opens to non-members on October 1. Please visit https://rcqg.square.site/ to sign up. \nVirtual Workshop Description\nScrap quilting is a wonderful way to express your own personal sense of style and color preferences. We will be using scraps of fabrics you chose for no other reason than you have the fabric. These scraps will be from leftovers of quilts you have already made\, fabric you bought because it was Wonderful! On Sale! Appealing for whatever reason! And maybe from gift fabric others gave to you that you have no clue what to do with. Add in some scraps you gather from friends and you will have gathered AND USE fabrics that reflect you more than any planned quilt would do. \nInstructor Bio\nLynn Dykstra has been quilting since childhood thanks to having a mother who encouraged nurturing that creative side. An active blogger since 2015\, she shares patterns and ideas and encourages others to adapt them. \nShe served as Illinois Quilters Inc. as  president for three terms. \nLynn is a nurse and teaches at Northern Illinois University. \nShe grew up on a farm in Iowa which she continues to manage with her sisters. \nLynn and her husband of 40 years are empty nesters and live in the west loop of Chicago.
