WHAT IS ART IN A JUST RECOVERY?
Art in a Just Recovery (AIJR) is a local community arts project that explores community care in the context of our ongoing pandemic recovery in Guelph. We’ll explore these ideas together through art and story-telling. Through a series of online and in-person workshops facilitated by Art Not Shame and the Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition’s newly formed Creative Collective, participants will create individual art pieces that eventually form a large-scale digital mural. We will also invite interested participants to contribute to building community-based knowledge about care.
WHO IS INVOLVED?
Art in a Just Recovery is a collaborative project between Art Not Shame, the Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition, University of Guelph researcher, Amy Kipp, social artist lead, Melanie Schambach, and several community Art Buddies. The project will also consist of two mental health workers who will provide support throughout the project.
We are inviting members from the community from ages 10+ to participate.
