Founded in 1914, the Art Gallery of Hamilton is the oldest and largest public art gallery in southwestern Ontario. Its permanent collection, which is focused on historical Canadian, 19th-century European and Contemporary art, now numbers more than 10,000 works and is recognized as one of the finest in Canada. The AGH is a vital creative hub and centre of lifelong learning that enables people of all ages to enrich their lives by gaining a deeper understanding of art.

The Art Gallery of Hamilton is looking to welcome a Collections Assistant, Digitization to join the Collections
The primary function of the Collections Assistant, Digitization, is to support the ongoing digital strategy of the
permanent collection by researching and implementing a Digital Asset Management System and maintaining
eMuseum. The Collections Assistant, Digitization will create a digitization plan and digital priority list, while
researching copyright, obtaining permissions and generating copyright agreements. This role will be
responsible for creating a comprehensive and accessible image file system by planning and facilitating
photoshoots, uploading images and relevant collection information.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Familiarity with Digital Asset Management
software and MS Excel is essential to this role, experience with art handling is an asset.
This role is a full-time (35 hours per week), working a flexible work week, predominantly Monday to Friday.
