The Community Fundraising & Events Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, execution and
delivery of fundraising events, donations, memberships, along with supporting programs at HWHG,
ensuring that these meet or exceed revenue and attendance targets. This role reports to the Director /
Curator.
Salary: $23.08/hr, $42,000 annually
Fundraising/Revenue Generation
-Meet and/or exceed annual goals by coordinating and executing events, donations, memberships, and
programs in alignment with HWHG strategies, vision, mission, core competencies and plans.
-Drive attendance at events and programs.
-Identify and maximize event revenue generation opportunities to meet or exceed funding goals.
-Solicit sponsorships for multi-year exhibition programs.
Event Management
-Collaborate with HWHG team to identify events and develop implementation plans for event
maximization and execution.
-Lead marketing strategy and implementation to ensure target goals are obtained.
-Coordinate and execute events within expense budget.
-Evaluate return on investment and implement improvements to achieve higher impact and return at
future events and programs.
-Anticipate and plan for future events, trends, problems, and opportunities.
-Experience with email marketing, social media and with tools such as Canva.
The ideal candidate possesses:
-Diploma/Degree specializing in one of the following areas: Museum Studies, Arts Management,
Business, Marketing, or other relevant programs. Post-Graduate Certificate in Cultural Studies,
Museum Studies, or Marketing would be considered an asset.
-Work experience in fundraising, sales, event coordination, marketing and/or not-for-profit.
-Demonstrable experience managing small and large events and sponsorship solicitation.
-Experience developing and monitoring event and fundraising budgets to meet established
expectations.
-People and volunteer management experience an asset.
– Strong communication skills.
– Computer skills required include Word, Excel and Power Point. Canva and Social Media experience is
considered an asset.
-Experience with digital technology an asset.
-Achievement-oriented goal-setter.
-Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
-Collaborative relationship-builder.
– Computer proficiency, preferably including experience with social media.
