DIGITAL CONTENT PRODUCER REPORTS TO: Suzanne Carte, Senior Curator
POSITION TYPE: Full-time, 2-year contract, working days would be Monday to Friday with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
COMPENSATION: Annual Salary $45,000, free onsite parking The Art Gallery of Burlington (AGB) is looking for an innovative and experienced producer to collaborate on new digital initiatives with the Programming team. The Gallery is guided by our vision to create valuable connections by inspiring curiosity through transformational artistic experiences. The position is key in facilitating meaningful experiences and learning opportunities with the public around the gallery’s exhibitions, programs, artist-led projects, and collections. The Digital Content Producer is critical in engaging and supporting in person and virtual visitor experiences. They initiate and supervise content creation by working with public facing departments, creators, designers, and external contractors. The producer oversees the development and production of content including audio, video, and web-based applications to ensure accuracy and tone across all media and platforms.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Produce and manage digital media programs with an emphasis on education and interpretation, such as smartphone applications, audio stops, microsites, videos, social media, touchscreen interactives, and distance learning initiatives. Special focus on online learning platforms.
• Develop strategies and partnerships for online and distance learning, including the use of social media for content delivery.
• Leverage new and pre-existing content for online delivery.
• Create media treatments, production plans, and schedules for digital projects.
• Support Programming team’s project management system.
• Strategize with the Programming team on digital programs to support upcoming exhibitions, permanent installations, and lectures. Represent the interests of gallery in relevant gallery-wide digital projects.
• Support the concept phase of the media production process with creative workshops and brainstorming sessions for team members. Employ a proven creative process, such as design thinking to conceptualize new ideas and move the team towards identifiable goals and milestones.
• Work to improve the digital experience of our website.
• Manage and introduce new media and software and support and advise team members or contract instructors using digital media or technology for their programs.
• Strengthen relationships with external partners and stakeholders for digital projects.

• Demonstrates a commitment to the AGB’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion priorities, ensuring that diverse audiences are represented, promoted, and engaged. Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in art history, education, communications, or digital humanities.
• Minimum 2-5 years’ experience producing multimedia, preferably with a cultural focus.
• Excellent project management, production planning, and leadership skills required. Experience with online learning platforms preferred.
• Production management experience with both linear and non-linear media. Video production experience, including treatment-writing, editorial supervision, and freelance coordination.
• Interactive production experience with content development and software production management and knowledge of the design-development process.
• Skilled writer and editor with a strong grasp of grammar, style, and on-brand writing.
• Deep knowledge of technology and media applications for educational purposes. Must be keyed into emerging technologies and ready to share new ideas with staff.
• Experience with a variety of content management systems. Experience with usability testing and quality assurance. Comfortable testing and evaluating new media with a diversity of audiences.
• General understanding of Adobe design applications preferred. Fluency with videography and photography skills a plus. • General appreciation and knowledge of game-based learning, design, physical computing, and maker spaces.
• Familiarity with a wide variety of media file formats and best practices for archival and web publishing purposes.
Working Environment:
• Office working environment.
• Most of the work is performed in a Gallery environment with an attendant noise level.
