Guelph Chamber Choir (GCC) is a charitable organization, recognized locally and nationally as Guelph’s premier choral ensemble. Its mission is to foster community enjoyment and appreciation of choral music through performance, outreach, artistic collaboration and community partnerships.

GCC seeks a Digital Marketing Specialist to develop and implement a marketing strategy intended to:

  • Grow and diversify GCC’s audience and donor base
  • Increase online engagement with its patrons and supporters
  • Enhance the profile of GCC, locally and beyond


  • Collaborate with the artistic director to align the marketing strategy with the artistic program and creative direction
  • Develop and implement a digital marketing strategy to advance program initiatives
  • Create/coordinate, and post, engaging and relevant content (text, image and video) on social media platforms and for e-newsletter, You Tube channel and website
  • Coordinate/prepare any non-digital marketing/promotion needs (media releases, PSAs, ads/posters, concert programs)
  • Establish and drive integrated communications
  • Work with administrator to coordinate various communications with patrons, supporters and media
  • Advise/guide refreshment of existing website and keep website up to date
  • Assess market to determine what motivates audiences and supporters
  • Develop innovative methods of revenue generation via social media
  • Ensure brand cohesiveness across all platforms
  • Provide actionable insights based on social media analytics
  • Perform other marketing and promotion duties as required

Skills and Requirements

  • Understanding of and a passion for choral music
  • Connection to the community of Guelph and the surrounding area
  • Experience in developing marketing strategies
  • Advanced digital marketing and social media skills
  • Exceptional copy skills to drive communications
  • Ability to reach a diverse set of audiences
  • Exceptional creative skills to craft engaging content (text, image and video)
  • Experience using tools to monitor and measure the effectiveness of campaigns
  • Understanding of social media platforms, newsletters, and non-digital marketing, as well as how to best utilize them for different needs
  • Ability to work independently and with team of staff and volunteers
  • Familiarity with graphic design software programs
  • Experience with graphic design is an asset, but not mandatory
  • A background in the performing arts and knowledge about the issues, opportunities, and challenges in the sector are a definite asset

This is a part time position. The scope of GCC’s annual program, in general, includes:

  • 4 to 5 ticketed concerts (adjusted for the 2021-22 season)
  • 3 to 4 community outreach activities (mini concerts, live-streamed events…)
  • Occasional virtual educational events to be developed (such as special guest artist speakers…)

Remuneration: $8,000 per year
