August 14, 2023 – August 25, 2023

The Guelph Black Heritage Society (GBHS) is pleased to offer its Dream Makers Summer Camp programs again this year.   The GBHS desires to provide a safe haven for our young people – an area to develop friendships, to learn from their mentors and to allow them the opportunity to feed their souls by creating a space to have the freedom to be creative, the freedom to dream and the freedom to realise anything is possible.

This program is open to all members of the community and there is no charge to register.  Space is limited.

Session # 2 Outline:

  • Week 1 – August 14 – 18, 2023 – Entrepreneurial Camp.  Students will learn how to create their own business name, concept, and logo. By the end of the program, they will have the skills to create their own website and opportunity to showcase their work.
  • Week 2 – August 21 – 25, 2023 – Engineering Camp. Students will gain an understanding of what engineering is and the different fields of engineering.  The program includes an introduction to the design process, and basic hands-on experience in various areas of engineering.  By the end of the program, students should have a basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, civil, and software engineering concepts, and be able to apply these concepts to solve problems.
