Welcome to the Creative Spaces Blog

Perhaps you are here to see what this project is all about, or maybe you already know about it and want to get involved. Either way – welcome, and thanks for stopping by!

It was a busy spring around Guelph Arts Council and we are excited to announce that the first phases of the Creative Spaces Project are well under way.

In case you are not familiar, the mission of the Creative Spaces Project is to create more space for Guelph's vibrant creative community in order to learn, make art and share their work with the community at large. Guelph is known as a creative centre and yet the city lacks affordable, healthy and inspiring spaces for performances and arts programming.

With the support of an Ontario Trillium Grant, this project is working towards creating an innovative multi-use arts and culture hub in Guelph that is flexible, affordable and accessible to the entire community.

Conversations with local artists and arts groups have helped form and guide the current shared-space concept and it will be through such resource sharing that we'll work together to develop a sustainable model. Guelph Arts Council is working towards securing a highly visible downtown arts space that will be able to grow and deliver something new and inspiring to the cultural landscape of the city.

Stay tuned... more updates are coming soon!
