About the Role
We’re looking for an Artist Facilitator to co-create magic with us this summer! If you love making art and believe in people feeling seen, heard, and welcome, this could be your dream gig.
This is also a great opportunity for someone curious about what goes on behind the scenes—you’ll get a peek into how community arts programs are dreamed up, planned, delivered, and evaluated. If you’ve got creative ideas you’re excited to share, we want to hear them! Your voice matters here.
What You’ll Be Up To:

Helping lead weekly art workshops for youth and adults

Assisting in creating a programming plan for our upcoming year (including creating workflows to support planning, delivering, and reflecting)

Dreaming up new outreach ideas and putting them into practice, in collaboration with other team members

Supporting participants with warmth, care, and creativity

Helping set up/clean up workshop spaces (don’t worry—glitter cleanup is a team effort)

Offering guidance in your art form while encouraging experimentation

Supporting community art events (exhibitions, open houses!)

Collaborating with our staff and participating in team meetings

Contributing your thoughts to program evaluation and future dreaming

Pitching in with other duties as needed—we’re a small team and we lift together!
You’re Someone Who:
-
Is excited about community art and inclusive creativity
-
Has experience in at least one art medium (and loves sharing it!)

Has facilitated groups or is keen to learn
-
Can work independently and take initiative
-
Wants to learn how arts programs get built from the ground up
-
Has ideas and wants to be part of the creative planning process
-
Can move furniture, equipment (up to 25 lbs), and handle light cleaning duties;

Has completed or is able to attend Creative Facilitation Training (May 23–25 in Guelph), or an equivalent training;

Knows their way around Google Workspace, Canva, or other creative tools
-
Believes everyone deserves access to creative spaces
Eligibility
This full-time, contract position is generously funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada Summer Jobs Program, which requires that the candidate:

Be between 15–30 years old at the start of the position

Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee protection

Have a valid SIN and be legally able to work in Canada

The work location is onsite at Art Not Shame, 119 Wyndham St. North, Guelph.

This is a contract role based on 30 hours/week at $21.30/hour (Ontario living wage for Guelph-Wellington).
The position duration is 9 weeks, starting June 16th, 2025 (possible flexibility on start date).
