Come join Art Not Shame for the third workshop from their Art for Social Change series, generously supported by OPIRG Guelph! This participatory artmaking workshop, titled Mapping the Diaspora: Exploring Arab Identity Through Art + Activism, will be led by Mryam AlSaad.
FREE, Spaces limited – Register/RSVP here!
Mryam AlSaad invites members of the Arab diaspora to explore and reclaim their identities through creative expression, dialogue, and collective art-making.
Through mixed-media storytelling, participants will trace their histories, celebrate their roots, and engage with questions of displacement, identity, justice, and representation
By layering art with activism, the workshop becomes a space where healing and transformation are possible, and where the diverse experiences of the Arab diaspora can be seen, shared, and honoured
Mryam AlSaad is an Arab professional working in sustainability, climate action, and non-profit. She is the co-founder and Executive Director of GAIA, a non-profit organization based in Guelph that aims to educate, advocate and create social change.
