Join the 2025 recipient of the Middlebrook Prize for Young Canadian Curators, Tristan Sauer, for a walkthrough of his exhibition Soft Internet Theory.
Confronting the threats that artificial intelligence and techno-capitalism pose to cyberspace, the exhibition calls attention back to the handmade and the human heartbeat that once gave the internet its revolutionary potential. Through practices that span net art, interactive sculpture, installation, video, and textile, the exhibition revises narratives of fear, artifice, and anxiety by humanizing technology, offering viewers an alternative look into the digital future.
