Music Workshop 5:30-6:30 – Come learn repertoire for Bal Folk dances! Fun tunes taught by ear, ideal for melody based instruments (Fiddle, accordion, mandolin, flute, etc.). You are welcome to stay for the dance workshop and either learn the dances or play the tunes you just learned for the dancers.
Dance Workshop 6:30-7:30 – Come learn traditional dances and dances common at Bal Folk events. Non-gendered dance roles, no partner or experience necessary. Each session is a focus on a different dance, and we’ll go in depth into the footwork, connection, and variations for each.

Jan 29 – Polka, Waltz, Scottish, Mazurka
Feb 5 – Breton tunes and dances
Feb 26 – Bourrée in 3
Mar 5 – Balfolk Mixers (Chapeloise, Cercassien)
Location: Guelph Arts Council / “Sally Wismer Gallery” in the Quebec St. Mall Downwtown
