Join GAC and the Guelph Public Library for a conversation with local artist Grazyna Adamska-Jarecka and Preetam Sengupta, Executive Director of the Guelph Arts Council. Grazyna will share insight into her approach to making art, including how she created the pieces in her exhibit, Oceans, Wetlands, and Greenlands. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to connect with one of Guelph’s own creative voices.
While you’re at the Library, visit Grazyna’s exhibit, Oceans, Wetlands, and Greenlands which depicts vital and interconnected ecosystems. The exhibit features more than 25 paintings displayed across three library locations: Main Library, East Side Library, and Westminster Square Library. The collection includes works from the artist’s My Oceanic Allegories show, as well as paintings depicting forests, lakes, and wetlands.
About the Artist
Grazyna Adamska-Jarecka is a Polish-born Canadian painter who has lived in Guelph, Ontario, for thirty years. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from the University of Guelph in 2002 and her Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2006. Her background in biology has greatly influenced her artistic interests. Throughout her career, her work has oscillated between abstract interpretations of microbes, coral reefs, landscapes, the human body, and communication.
