GAC RELEASES RESULTS OF MUNICIPAL ELECTION CANDIDATE SURVEY
On September 2nd, Guelph Arts Council (GAC) on behalf of the Guelph Arts Advocacy Alliance put out a call for municipal election candidates to complete a survey about their perspectives on arts and culture in Guelph. We’re excited to share that the survey results are now live on the Guelph Arts Council website.
We encourage all Guelph voters to consider the responses of the candidates before casting their ballots.
As we shared with candidates in the pre-survey brief, the arts and culture sector is an economic powerhouse, contributing enormously to our economy. It is time municipal budgets and planning reflects this. Arts and culture activities strengthen communities, drive local economies, deepen civic engagement, and contribute to the quality of life that makes Guelph a remarkable place to live.
Candidates had until September 30th to complete the survey and received two reminder emails ahead of the deadline. Of the 49 candidates running in the municipal election, responses were received from 28.
