Accessibility and Activism in Social Media

How can you make social media content accessible? How can your graphics become an experience for a much wider audience? How can you create access-driven social media content that allows you to actively work against platforms rooted in capitalism, colonialism, and ableism? These are some of the questions we will be discussing in our workshop: Accessibility & Activism in Social Media led by Yasmeen Nematt Alla. We will be learning how to add alt text to different social media platforms, recommendations for writing image descriptions, and some things to think about when you’re designing visuals for social media!
