Doors Open Guelph is back! After a three-year hiatus, the doors to some of Guelph’s most architecturally, historically, and culturally significant sites will open to the public Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for free guided tours, interactive experiences, and behind-the-scenes glimpses. The following sites have been confirmed for Doors Open Guelph 2023:

  • Guelph Water Works
  • Sikh Society Gurdwara
  • Muslim Society Mosque
  • Sleeman Breweries
  • Spring Mill Distillery
  • Locomotive 6167 and Guelph Historical Railway Association Caboose
  • Dominion Public Building
  • Petrie Building
  • Cutten Kelly Building
  • Guelph Research and Development Centre (Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada)

Walking Tour of Guelph’s Kettle Lakes with the Guelph Hiking Trail Club

Doors Open Guelph is excited to collaborate with the Guelph Hiking Trail Club to offer Trails Open as part of this year’s Doors Open program.

Short, guided hikes of Guelph’s Kettle Lakes will run regularly on-demand from 9:30am – 3:30pm on April 29th. Tours begin at the south end of the parking lot for Pearson Park (to the rear of Bishop Macdonell High School).

Bike Tours with the Guelph Coalition for Active Transportation

Doors Open Guelph is grateful to collaborate with the Guelph Coalition for Active Transportation to offer guided bike tours of various sites in this year’s program.

GCAT is offering the following tours to the public on April 29th:

  • The Downtown Walking tour, featuring:
    • Dominion Public Building
    • Petrie Building
    • Spring Mill Distillery
  • The Central Cycling tour, featuring:
    • Guelph Research and Development Centre (Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada)
    • Muslim Society Mosque
    • Guelph Waterworks Pumping Station Engine House
  • The South End Cycling tour, featuring:
    • Sleeman Breweries
    • GHTC tour of the Kettle Lakes
    • Sikh Society Gurdwara

GCAT will be offering each tour once starting at 10 am at a predetermined start location, with a tour group capacity of approximately 20 people.

Registration will be required to take part in these tours. More information regarding registration will be released soon.
