Give new life to your clothes and textiles! Learn the history of indigo and marbling techniques and the role of upcycling to rethink textile waste.
In this workshop participants will be introduced to indigo dyeing techniques that will be applied to various fabrics and papers. Participants will have the opportunity to try multiple resist techniques to customize both supplied materials and their own items.
Marbling will follow with vibrant inks to create painterly designs. Participants will use a range of tools to manipulate the inks and create beautiful patterns that will be transferred onto fabrics and paper.
Materials: Although materials are included, we encourage you to bring some of your own items to personalize such as T-shirts, pillowcases, socks, scarves, etc. They must be made from natural fibers such as cotton, linen, hemp, and silk.
