Our fourth annual 24-hour improvisation festival returns! IF 2023: Restless Imagination, Improvising the New Normal features robust, in-person programming at the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation’s new state-of-the-art performance space, ImprovLab, as well as at select sites around the University of Guelph campus.

This year’s lineup features:

IF: 2023 is sponsored by SSHRC (The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada), The University of Guelph, Musagetes, The Art Gallery of Guelph, CFRU 93.3 FM, and Lost Aviator Coffee, and presented in partnership with the Sonic Arts Research Centre (Queen’s University Belfast), the Guelph Comedy Festival, Audiopollination, LASALLE College of the Arts (Singapore), Hillside Festival, UC Programming – University of Guelph, Upstream Music Association, and Wavelength Music.

There will be limited access to festival launch and closing events. Festival Pass does not guarantee entry. Please be sure to reserve tickets to each of these special performances.

Although some events may appear sold out online, tickets may still be available at the door. Pass holders will be given priority and granted entry on a first come, first served basis.

Please Note: Our sprung dance floor in ImprovLab is really delicate, and heels can cause a lot of damage. We ask all attendees please to not wear heels inside ImprovLab.
