Neutral explores the juxtaposition of the complimentary colours purple and yellow, as well as, blue and orange. I am interested in letting the painting guide itself; exploring different layering techniques that change the viscosity of the medium. I am compelled by the contrasting values, as for me they evoke a sense of urgency, yet the neutral feeling still remains.

About Rylee Rumble

A recent grad from the University of Guelph’s Studio Art, Rylee Rumble is currently an MFA Candidate at Western University. Her practice is deeply rooted in the process and she is currently examining the topic of mental health by exploring colour through a perceptive lens. While Rumble has shown in multiple duo and group shows, Neutral will be her first solo exhibition.
