OIL & COLD WAX ABSTRACT LANDSCAPES
2-DAY WORKSHOP with CAROLYN SHARP

$250 plus hst + $20 kit fee
*please note there is a minimum of 6 required to run this class.
Unleash your creativity and make your own masterpiece using oil paint and cold wax medium.
Carolyn will guide you towards creating atmospheric and colourful abstracted land & waterscape paintings on archival oil paper and cradled wood panels.
You will also learn ways to find compelling compositions and create colour harmony in your paintings. This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience, so come explore, experiment and get those creative juices going!
Materials List (students to bring)
2 Cradled or flat wood panels. Please choose two of any of these size ranges:
5 x 7 to 9 x 12 AND/OR 6 x 6 to 10×10 (available at Wyndham Art Supplies or Michaels).
Creative catalyst Wedge straight edge rubber tool (available at Wyndham Art Supplies or other Fine Art supply store) or if you are unable to pick up, Carolyn will provide a plastic substitute
*Please bring 2 favourite landscape or waterscape images, printed from your computer in black and white
*Oils will be provided, but please bring any favourite oil colours if there are colours you would like to work with.
Please note: A $20 KIT FEE is payable in cash to the instructor at the start of class.
Materials supplied by instructor in kit fee:
Cold Wax Medium, Oil paints, Odourless Solvent, Oil Sticks and oil pastels, Charcoal & Pencils, Large sheets sketch paper, Variety of mark making tools
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Carolyn Sharp is an award-winning full-time artist living & working in beautiful Elora. Her paintings are imaginary, intuitive, soulful expressions depicting the lands and waters of Ontario in an abstracted manner. Her background in Interior Design provides her with a keen eye for creating colourful and compelling paintings in both acrylic and oil & cold wax. She began studying art in 2003, and has trained with many highly regarded artists throughout North America. Carolyn exhibits her work through galleries, the annual Elora Fergus Studio Tour, and her private studio/gallery which is open to the public by appointment. She offers semi-private classes from her Elora studio, has taught at the Elora Mill, and now through the Elora Centre for the Arts. www.carolyn-sharp.com
