Percussiano3: A Sound Feast of Piano & Percussion
Music at the Hall is excited to present Percussiano3 on Tuesday, October 28 at 7:30 pm at the Eden Mills Community Hall. Percussiano3 is a veritable pageant for the eye and the ear bringing together a myriad of percussion instruments with one piano.
With their dazzling array of instruments and brilliant display of virtuosity, Percussiano3 present great masterpieces and unique transcriptions for percussion and piano, from an Aaron Copeland Hoe-Down to a Piazzolla Tango to Dave Brubeck’s Blue Rondo a la Turque! They never miss a beat!
The trio come to Eden Mills from Western Canada. Based in Calgary, Rod Thomas Squance is a stunning solo percussionist captivating audiences with his perfect blend of compelling musicianship, sparkling technique, and exotic sound. He has performed with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Project and international artists from a rich variety of musical cultures. Rod also plays jazz vibraphone, Balinese shadow-puppet music and Indian classical music.
The prize-winning Elizabeth and Marcel Bergmann Piano Duo’s dynamic and energetic performances of uniquely eclectic programmes have inspired audiences nationally and internationally. The duo has recorded extensively and their repertoire ranges from the Baroque to the contemporary, including a myriad of Marcel’s own arrangements and compositions. They are based in the Vancouver area.
Music at the Hall programs concerts and events keep the village of Eden Mills hopping, and to raise funds for Community Hall operations. The heritage Hall is known for its excellent acoustics and dance floor. The Hall is also proud to be carbon neutral!
