Following our very successful fall 2020 COVID mini-presentations, Suzette and I have continued to work in the studio.
We have created another new work ‘Smile’ to the music of Charlie Chaplin, which voices what so many of us are feeling  – ‘Smile though your heart is breaking’. These have been truly challenging times and we hope you have reached the vaccine milestone in good health.
Since Covid’s first shut-down in March 2020, we have added many new works to our repertoire, some which we premiered during our fall Covid mini-showings. These will be featured in the pop-up presentations along with existing works:
To Be Two – duet choreographed by David Earle
composer: Peter Skoggard
This piece shows a deep and dependant interconnection between two people and their journey to self-identity.
Tatiana’s Lament – solo choreographed by Suzette
composer: Peter Ostrousko
A woman attempts to remember the beautiful moments of her relationship until the reality of the past forces her to acknowledge its darker side.
Voyage of My Longing – solo choreographed by Michele
composer: Henryk Mikolaj Górecki
The memory of you emerges from the night around me’     Pablo Neruda
Three stages of grief – denial, anger & acceptance
Smile – duet choreographed by Suzette & Michele
composer: Charlie Chaplin          musician: Madeleine Peyroux
More whimsical than most of our repertoire, Smile depicts vignettes of melancholy moments.
In the Absence of Touch… – duet choreographed by Suzette & Michele
composer: electronic score by Joel Green
A journey through the emotions felt during the pandemic, grieving the loss of touch and the eventual recovery to a new normal.
Waltzing Matilda – duet based on movement and music from David Earle’s Maelstrom, a much larger work choreographed in 1996
Two women remember the past, engage in the present and, perhaps, move on.
composer: Christina Macpherson          musician: Michael Thomas
Letting Go – solo choreographed by Michele
‘Was it not yesterday?’
The journey of mother and child.
composer: J.S. Bach, Cello suite #6 Sarabandemusician: Yo-Yo Ma

Each informal pop-up presentation will consist of six pieces chosen from the new and existing repertoire followed by a short discussion. If you are interested in seeing a specific work, please let us know and we will guide you to the correct presentation, if possible.
We will continue to follow COVID protocols with a socially distanced audience of TEN people maximum. Masks are required. Suzette and I are both fully vaccinated.
Presentations will be held at 42 Quebec St., Guelph (Guelph Youth Dance studio), 3rd floor. The studio is equipped with a HEPA filter and windows will be open prior to the presentation if weather permits.
Upon receipt of reservations we will send further information on protocol and access.
