Guelph, ON – February 2, 2018 – Guelph Arts Council presents The Collector’s Dilemma, an auction of fine art previously owned by local collectors. This afternoon of bidding, listening and mingling happens on Sunday, February 18 from 1 – 4:30 pm at Canada Company Hall, River Run Centre. All proceeds benefit Guelph Arts Council.

Thanks to the generosity of local art collectors – who’ve run out of wall space or are making room for new treasures – an amazing collection of quality artwork, in a range of media, styles, sizes, and values, will be sold in live and silent auctions. The event also features a talk by Heather Beecroft of Beecroft Fine Arts on the joys and benefits of collecting art. Learn how to start and grow an art collection that will transform your home, impress your neighbours, and increase in value. Mingle with other art enthusiasts while sipping a complimentary glass of wine or beer and enjoying light snacks from a local caterer.

Oil, watercolour, and acrylic paintings, prints, and sculpture are available. Works by well-known local artists Gordon Couling, Stephen Lewis, and Jane Graham are just a sample of the quality artworks donated to the event.

Tickets are $40 and are available online at guelpharts.ca or in person at Guelph Arts Council, 10C Shared Space, 42 Carden Street. Please call 519-836-3280 or email [email protected] for more information.
